What is IFS?

IFS (International Featured Standards) publishes IFS Food, a GFSI-recognised standard used across Europe and worldwide to assess a food producer's ability to deliver safe, authentic and high-quality products in line with legal and customer requirements.

The current Version 8 was released in 2023 and became mandatory for certified companies from January 2024, gaining GFSI recognition in September 2024. It is aligned with the Codex Alimentarius, ISO 22003-2 and the GFSI Benchmarking Requirements, with a strong focus on product safety, authenticity, quality and its assessment on site.
